BiographyBorn: October 10, 1976, Halkirk, Alberta Playing Career: National Hockey League, Right Wing Drafted 7th Overall (first pick) by Winnipeg Jets, 1995 Made transition from major junior Kamloops Blazers to NHL in 1995-96 season. Winnipeg Jets relocated to Phoenix Coyotes in 1996-97 Selected Coyotes' captain in 2003-04 Made international debut for Team Canada, 1999 World Championship 2004 won his first Gold Medal against Finland.2007, selected Canadian World Championship team Captain 2010, Awarded King Clancy Memorial Trophy Personal: Parents operate the Circle Square Ranch, a Christian summer camp in Halkirk. Shane is a second cousin of Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price, a first cousin of Winnipeg Jets prospect Keaton Ellerby and a first cousin of two-time Olympic speed skating gold medalist Catriona Le May Doan, through marriage of husband, Bart Doan.
